We are currently seeking a specialty geotechnical construction superintendent to join our team in Woodbine, Maryland and participate on a wide variety of specialty geotechnical construction related projects located within Maryland, Virginia, DC, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with personnel at other HCEA offices throughout the company.


To provide all on-site coordination and oversee the operations on all of our specialty geotechnical construction projects from planning to completion, including the assignment and coordination of labor, equipment, subcontractors and ordering of materials.  You will ensure that project specifications are being strictly adhered to and that all work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.  You will be in charge of all the field production to include the drilling and grouting operations on our specialty geotechnical construction projects for the installation of temporary and permanent support of excavation systems (H-Pile/Lagging, Soil Nail and Shotcrete, Soil Screws/Helical Anchors/Platipus Anchors and Geobrugg, Etc.); ground improvement and stabilization via pressure grouting, compaction grouting, and chemical grouting; conventional underpinning; and deep foundations (micropiles, helical anchors).  As a superintendent, you shall also be responsible for attending pre-bid, pre-construction, and progress meetings; completing and reviewing required daily paperwork; training of personnel; interviewing and hiring field personnel; assisting in budgeting and bidding of construction projects; establishing daily production goals for construction crews; inspections and quality control; maintenance of equipment and scheduling of repairs; and job site safety.  You must be dependable, a team player, detail oriented and able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced construction environment.  Experience in the specialty geotechnical construction field is required to perform this job.


  • Minimum of two year experience as a Superintendent in Specialty Geotechnical Construction
  • Ability to operate drilling, grouting, and heavy construction equipment
  • Strong leadership and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to perform Superintendent duties at multiple projects, simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to layout work in the field based on plans and existing stakeout
  • Class A CDL a Plus!
  • Must be able to travel and work out of town as needed
  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution; solve problems
  • Must pass company background check including pre-employment drug screening
  • Must have an excellent driving record within company standards
